How a Business Line of Credit Works
A business line of credit is revolving — unlike a term loan that gives you one lump sum, a line of credit gives you access to a set credit limit that you can draw from whenever you need it. You only pay interest on the amount you've actually drawn, and as you repay, that credit becomes available again.
This makes a line of credit a good fit for ongoing or unpredictable expenses — covering payroll during a slow stretch, restocking inventory, or bridging a gap between invoices — where a fixed working capital loan or lump-sum term loan is less flexible.
Requirements & Eligibility
To qualify, your business should generally be operating for at least 3 months and generating revenue. We serve businesses across the U.S. and Canada, and there's no hard credit check to see what credit limit you may qualify for.
Line of Credit vs. Business Loan
A term loan gives you a lump sum with a fixed repayment schedule — predictable, but less flexible once the funds are disbursed. A line of credit gives you ongoing access up to your limit, so you only borrow (and pay interest on) what you actually need at the time.
There's no fixed maximum on credit limits through FundZip's network. Most lines of credit are unsecured, meaning no specific collateral is required, though your rate and limit depend on your business's revenue and credit profile.
